Friendship that will last a lifetime.

Remember this little photo challenge I introduced several months ago? Have you been doing it? It's been fun to slowly take some of these pictures along the way.

Today I'm doing #24: "Your kids with their closet friends".

As we are getting ready for our move to Colorado one of our biggest issues with leaving is that we have to leave behind many wonderful people and some really close friends. Jonathon and I have always said if we could take everyone from Texas with us to Colorado it would be PERFECT!

As Jon and I have been dealing with our feelings about leaving, it didn't occur to me that Lyndon is having the same feelings about leaving behind his close friends. The reason I haven't thought about it is because Maddie, who has always been vocally PRO-Colorado, really doesn't make the same kinds of connections as Lyndon does. She's made some good friends but it's not really an issue for her about leaving.

But after picking Lyndon up from his friends house last week he said to me, "Mom, I REALLY don't want to leave my friends! I love them so much. I would be so sad not to see them again." Poor little guy. He loves people and he especially loves his close friends, why didn't I think of how he was feeling about leaving?

Even though I'm sure Lyndon will be able to see him friends again I'm so glad I took lots of pictures of them together over the last few years. Here is the crew...

It's been a fun because from each of our families comes a little girl, Maddie, Lucy, and Gwen and then about 18 months later came their little brothers, Lyndon, Owen, and Harry. They all play so well together and they have had some fun times over the last few years...

Over the years that Lyndon has known Lucy he has been in love. He will readily tell you that he's going to marry Lucy someday. (He used to say she was the one because they both loved the color yellow.) I always find them playing together. Here they are at the beach just chillin'...

And playing...

He also has another little friend who he loves...Lilah. Lilah and Lyndon were friends LONG before either of their parents even knew about it! Unbeknownst to us, Lyndon and Lilah played at the Kid's Club at 24 hour Fitness almost every day. I didn't know Lilah's family until one day when we were at a church breakfast meeting the new congregation that joined ours, and Lilah spotted Lyndon! She was thrilled! Her family said that they had always heard Lilah talking about her friend but just thought he was an imaginary friend!

Here's Lyndon and Lilah...

Yes, it will be very hard to leave but I'm confident we will all see each other again though AND of course Maddie and Lydnon will always have their very best friends with them all the time.

each other...

So go ahead, document some of your most precious moments in your life!

This comes at such a good time. We're moving like we do every few years with the military and my littlest is having a tough time with it too. We're meeting her best friend in Atlanta before we move to Hawaii for 3 years. I'll make sure to take as many of these photos as I can.
