The beauty shot tutorial

This is the first time I've tried this technique. I actually found it here a couple of months ago and thought I should try and it out and share it with you, my dear reader...

So here is the set-up:

What you want to do it tape a sheet of white tissue paper on the window, thus blocking the direct rays and setting up a white background. Push your table up right next to the tissue paper. On the table lay out a sheet or two of tin foil. I put the shiny side up.

After your set-up you're all ready to shoot! meter off of your object so it will cause the background to be completely over exposed. And you get something like this:

In all of my shots, SOOC (straight out of the camera) were a little dark so in Lightroom I increased the exposure and the fill light. Because it also felt a little washed out, I also increased the blacks and the contrast.

And there you have it...a beauty shot made simple.
