Back to school!

Our first child starts school in just 2 very short weeks.

I really can't believe she's going to be gone all day long! I have mixed emotions. Part of me is already missing our daily outings to Target, the library, swimming, meeting up with our friends and going out to lunch. Another part of me is DREADING the fact that as of now I have to be up early in the morning. I love sleeping in. But the biggest part of me is excited for her. She's beyond ready to go. She's has been looking forward to school for at least 2 years. I'm excited for her to experience all the joy and newness of being on her own, with her mom dad or brother. I'm excited for her to come home smelling like construction paper and elmers glue.

We've been school shopping here and there over the last couple of weeks and we've had a really fun time. I buy school supplies every year just because I love school supplies and I can't say no to crayola markers for only 50 cents! But this year, with our school supply list in hand it was even more fun. I was especially excited to help her pick out her backpack. We weren't able to choose her own school clothes because she will be wearing a school uniform so picking a backpack was the next best thing. We found one at Old Navy that she liked but then...

I found this one online and who could resist?

How adorable is that? I found it at Piperlime. I ordered it late one night when Maddie was sleeping. I was 85% sure she would love it. And I'm happy to say, She totally fell in love with it. So if you're looking for quite possibly the cutest backpack in the world...look no further. :)

Lyndon had to get in on the fun too...

Have you found the perfect backpack? do share!

  2. Love the jumping pictures. So cute. We have the lunch cooler bag in the owl and bee designs and the kids just love carrying them around (usually containing toys rather than food).
