One big happy family.

I had the pleasure of taking pictures of a beautiful family this week. Grandma, Grandpa, 3 children with their spouses, and 4 grandchildren. We had a wonderful evening. The weather the perfect, the lighting was perfect and they ALL looked at the camera! Woo Hoo! Success.

Beautiful photos. Can I ask what lens(es) you used?

Hi Connie!
I used my sigma 30mm f/1.4 lens for all the group shots and my Nikon 85mm f/1.8 for the couples and individual shots.

Thanks for the lens info. I just got my first DSLR for Christmas (Canon Rebel T3i) and I skipped the kit lens (thanks to your book). I went with the Canon 50mm/1.8 lens. I'm debating which lens to get next...

I'd love to see more ideas for a large group like that- since I'm sure I'll have some shots like that in the future with 6 siblings plus lots of nieces and nephews!

Beautiful photos! I love the clothing color scheme the family chose, too. It looks great against the red barn and green grass.

oh wow, I love the one where they are all coming across the grass holding hands with the light streaming between them! Just beautiful!
